Memoir by Amber Ruffin and Lacey Lamar
I am so glad I picked up this book!
It was hilarious, infuriating, and shocking. Now I want everyone I know to read it, too.
This memoir written by two sisters from Omaha details the casual racism that they endure every day. The sheer number of the stories is eye- opening.
I found this book because the Omaha Public Library has it featured on their “books by local authors” page. I think it would be the most- requested book of the year if they mentioned that local people are featured throughout in ways that would make their friends and families cringe. I sincerely hope that people recognize themselves in these pages and learn something from it.
Give this book a try. The very first page was so funny that I can’t stop laughing about it.
